As Adelaide farewelled the festival season for another year, CityMag hit the East End to capture those celebrating the final Friday night in style.
Style Sample: End of the festival season
Last Friday the Federal Government advised against social gatherings of 500 people or more, beginning Monday, in a bid to control the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. This week, it then reduced that number to 100 for indoor gatherings.
This has made the weekend just gone very special, not only because it was the swansong for the 2020 festival season – a month or more of food, arts and hangovers galore – but also because it will perhaps be the last major social gathering for some time to come.
CityMag jumped on the opportunity to document those braving the 5000 for the final weekend of the season, but also to capture the last brave looks on the streets we might see for at least the foreseeable future.
While we wholeheartedly endorse social distancing, hand-washing and weird elbow bumping as measures to limit the spread of the virus, we also encourage bright headscarves, bubblegum-pop sneakers and wallet chains to keep the spirit strong.
Where words fail, fashion can speak loudly in its place.
In the mean time, here are the looks and answers to the perennial question “What are you doing tonight?” to distract us from the madness.
Just getting manis and pedis.
