Adelaide Hills winery Lambrook is launching its Norwood cellar door this weekend, with a pop-up party featuring Lambrook wine, Capital Brewing beer, Antipodes gin, food by Fine and Fettle, and music from Tom Kurzel and Brad Lee.
Lambrook Wines is launching its suburban cellar door this weekend
In a warehouse next to Scammels Auctions in Norwood, Lambrook Wines is debuting its cellar door this weekend, bringing a new offering to the inner-east’s burgeoning small-batch beverage scene.
Founders Brooke and Adam Lampit have long wanted a space for the public to interact with their brand and saw the opportunity after signing the lease for the storage facility.

“We honestly get a phone call a week: ‘What time does the cellar door open?’ So people have obviously tried our wines, they like it, and it’s almost an expectation that we’ve got something,” Adam says.
“Once we’d chucked all the stock in, we realised that we had enough space to do things.”
Key to opening the space up to the public was the purchase of the intricately fit out (and transportable) Lambrook shipping-container bar, allowing Brooke and Adam to showcase their wines, alongside beers from Canberra brewery Capital Brewing and NSW’s Antipodes Gin, which Lambrook also distributes.
The bar has seen successful outings at a few events, and is available for hire, but this weekend’s launch event, happening from midday ‘til 10pm on Saturday, 9 November, will be its first use on site at the Lambrook cellar door.
“We’re hosting, Fine and Fettle are doing the food, and we’ve got Tom Kurzel and Brad Lee doing music across the afternoon. It’s really just open house, so that people can come along, see what we’re doing,” Brooke says.
Most importantly, it’s an opportunity for fans of the Lambrook brand – and even those still unfamiliar – to meet and get to know Adam and Brooke.
“It’ll be Brooke and I running it; I am the winemaker and Brooke is the owner… It actually will be us here, so if there are any questions or anything, it will be actually us,” Adam says.
The Lambrook cellar door will only be open to the public for one-off events at this stage, but tastings can be arranged by appointment, and Adam and Brooke are keen to see the space embraced by locals looking for an event space.
“If people want to hire the space and they want to fill it up with glitz and glamour, that’s fine, they can do that. It is quite a blank canvas,” Adam says.
“For 21st birthdays, or a 40th, or 50th, and there’s 100 people coming, you can do whatever you want in the way of food – you can have Nanna make the food or you can get food trucks. We just want people to come in, enjoy they space, and know the brand.”
Brooke and Adam also contracted local street artist Jack Fran to bring some colour into the space, with a large mural spanning much of the warehouse’s length.
“Because it is a warehouse, there’s no windows, we’re not looking over a vineyard, we wanted something where people could walk in and go, ‘Whoa!’ So that’s what we got,” Adam says.
Jack Fran and wineries seem to be a good pairing, with the artist this year taking out Longview’s Piece Project street art competition.
Lambrook’s cellar door launch party is happening on Saturday, 9 November from midday until 10pm. For more information, see the event page. Keep up to date with future Lambrook Wines events by following them on Facebook and Instagram.
