ACE Open are throwing their inaugural Summer Party, and we reckon it’s gonna be a cracker.
There are going to be a bunch of cool things happening there. It’s probably best to dot-point them out for ease of reading.
- A mini golf installation called ‘Dazzle Mountain Miniature Golf Adventure Park‘ by local artist Dominique Keeley will transform the Lion Arts Centre Courtyard.
- Some of Adelaide’s coolest makers will showcase their wares at ACE Open’s first Makers Market, including Clay by Khoa, Good Studios, Haneen Martin, Karlien van Rooyen, Nadika, Noun Movement Books, Olivia Kathigitis and more.
- Antipodes gin are setting up a cocktail bar.
- The night will be a last chance to go see 2017 exhibitions ‘Next Matriarch’ (ACE Open) and ‘Filter’ (ACE Across).
- There will be a few performances on the go, including:
– At 5pm Thomas Capogreco and Rohan Goldsmith will be closing Tara O’Conal’s Filter exhibition with an improvised sound performance using acoustic percussive elements along with modular synth sounds.
– At 6pm, as part of the Dazzle Mountain Miniature Golf Adventure Park, a selection of Adelaide’s premier amateur drag queens will take on Kasey Chambers’ biggest hits in a playful subversion of Australiana classics. - A Meat-the-Curator BBQ, and
- A raffle.
That’s a lot of things.
A lot of very very good things.
