Traditionally, a pub is a venue of slurred banter and grand plans never to come to fruition, however, on the first Friday of every month at The Rob Roy, Science in the Pub is raising the bar.

Each month a topic is chosen and a panel of experts in that field present their latest research, which the public can then (with the aid of social lubricants) question, contend, or commend, with a beer in hand.

This Friday, 3 June, the question posed is ‘what has geoscience ever done for you?’ to which we reply that we’re not sure, but we’d be happy to find out over a pint.

Brains and beer working together at last. Seems like a good idea to us.
