Alpine Winter Village

  • Words: Connie De Crea

Winter is alright but it would be nice if for at least a portion of it there was a good reason to stop huddling on the couch with seven blankets wrapped around your numb body, watching re-runs of Seinfeld episodes.

Remarks

The Alpine Winter Village is happening July 7-31 at the Torrens Parade Ground, Adelaide Riverbank. It is open Sunday-Thursday from 10am to midnight, and 10am-1am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Well you can take that sweet proposal and get excited, because the answer is here in the form of Adelaide’s Alpine Winter Village, an all-ages festival in the Torrens Parade Ground.

The event is free except for after 7pm on Fridays and Saturdays when the cost is $5. While there, patrons have the opportunity to experience some of the best winter activities from around the globe in the middle of Adelaide. Thankfully, in the midst of ice skating, Christmas markets, live entertainment and comforting winter food there will be plentiful mulled wine and other winter-themed beverages, which truly is wonderful.
