If you’ve wandered into Stone’s Throw on The Parade recently, you might be curious to know what exactly is happening in the front section of the venue.

Remarks

The Stone’s Throw bar will officially be open April 28. Find Stone’s Throw at 127 The Parade, Norwood.

“We are diversifying our offering by adding a small bar element to our already successful restaurant,” Quentin Whittle says.

“Our side of town is somewhat ‘thin on the ground’ when it comes to small bars, we saw the hole in the market and are running with it. Staying consistent to our ethos – our prepared drinks list will be derived from the same seasonal ingredients our kitchen uses, hopefully creating a real synergy between our bar and kitchen.”

The bar will feature a specialised menu, which Quentin describes as “local charcuterie, freshly shucked oysters, house made breads and pickles and preserves. Mediterranean inspired. Nothing too complicated. Drinking food.”

Rather than creating separate spaces, the plan is for the bar to add to the overall Stone’s Throw experience.

“Its going to be a great place to meet friends before dinner, relax, share a drink and some small plates before moving to your restaurant table, as well as equally great for a drink and conversation,” Quentin says.

The bar will officially be open April 28, but until then you’re more than welcome to salivate by the window and dream of where Norwood’s developing nightlife might lead.
