The July lockdown had many significant impacts on the South Australian hospitality community – thankfully that did not include the wholesale cancellation of the Adelaide Hills’ premier winter wine event, Winter Reds.

Initially scheduled to happen in late July, the organisers have managed to fit their event into the last days of winter, as the festival takes over the much-loved Hills wine region from 27—29 August.

There is a bevy of events occurring as part of Winter Reds, including Sidewood’s Pinot & Pork; Ngeringa’s Warm Up event, featuring a hearty braised stew from chef Andrew Douglas of Bhreu; and Grunthal’s Ski Lodge, hosted at Maximillian’s in collaboration with Saint & Scholar.

There’s a tonne more on offer, and all you need to do to participate is purchase a $10 souvenir wine glass.
