The world’s foremost experimental and electronic music festival, Unsound, kicks-off in Adelaide today (Thursday, November 16) with sound installations happening at the Adelaide Railway Station (8am-6pm Thursday to Sunday) and Adelaide Botanic Garden (10am-4pm Thursday to Sunday) before the expansive roster of artists takes hold of the city this weekend.

From Friday to Sunday, Thebarton Theatre and Fowlers Live will host a roster of artists, including the world premiere of a new ensemble made up of three of Australia’s best instrumental musicians, pianist Chris Abrahams of The Necks, guitarist and experimental musician Oren Ambarchi and drummer Robbie Avenaim.

Thebarton Theatre will also host the world premiere of AV artist, Robin Fox’s Euclidian Drone on Friday night.

This year will also see the Unsound Discourse program come to Adelaide for the first time too, featuring artist talks by acclaimed electronic musicians and presentations on politics, communities and technology within the electronic music community around the world.

The sound installations and Discourse program are free to attend. Tickets for the concerts and club nights can be purchased at the Unsound Adelaide website.
