Trash Tiki x Maybe Mae x Shobosho

Bar-hoppers might have noticed a recent trend making its way throughout Adelaide’s late night establishments, where bartenders are not so freely offering straws with every beverage.

Rather then being a cost-cutting measure from the higher ups, this is a concerted effort from conscientious bar owners across the city to curb the amount of unnecessary waste the hospitality industry releases into the environment.

Remarks

Trash Tiki will pop up at Maybe Mae on Friday, 23 February from 6pm.

Bastions of this movement toward responsible bartendering, Trash Tiki – the anti-waste punk pop-up – will visit the Maybe Mae basement this Friday, 23 February, to spread the good word and give insight into how bars, cafés, and restaurants can better provide their service, with fewer detrimental effects.

Trash Tiki’s founders, Iain Griffiths and Kelsey Ramage, will showcase how it’s done, creating four cocktails with sustainability and locality at front of mind. Neighbouring restaurant Shōbōsho will also provide eats for the occasion.

Tickets are available here, and for further information on Trash Tiki, see their website.
