The Tell-Tale Heart

1—4 July 2021

A performance presented in a derelict old jail would be chilling enough, but one set in a building once known as the Parkside Lunatic Asylum is something of a level-up.

More info

State Opera’s rendition of Edgar Allan Poe’s classic goth fiction The Tell-Tale Heart will materialise within this nightmarish setting as it presents the work as a one-man opera within the harrowing halls of Z Ward.

James Egglestone, one of Australia’s finest tenors, will perform Poe’s words, led by conductor Dennis Vaughan.

The show will be haunting and vivid – a pulsating and sensory experience.

State Opera warns The Tell-Tale Heart contains psychological themes “that are more suitable to mature minds”, so make your purchasing decision accordingly.
