Adelaide’s own slice of Italy, Mercato, is celebrating its 50th anniversary – and you’re invited.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary, Mercato is teaming up with Pirate Life Brewery for Tavola D’Amore (or, Table of Love), which will feature an array of culinary delights from head chefs Nick Bergin (Mercato) and Rocky Oliveira (Pirate Life).

The decadent menu features an antipasto of focaccia, prosciutto, sopressa, mortadella, olives, pickles and fried spaghetti carbonara.

For primo, enjoy baked maltagliati (also known as “poorly cut pasta”) in a Napoletana sauce with stracciatella and basil. Secondo is porchetta with roast onion, balsamic, gremolata, potatoes, parmesan, confit garlic and parsley salad, or an eggplant parmigiana for vegetarians. And be sure to keep room for dolce, where guests will be served a Pirate Life ‘beeramisu’ and grappa.

On Thursday, 17 November, head to the Pirate Life Brewing Co. at 18 Baker Street, Port Adelaide, and embark on a celebration of Italian culture and cuisine.
