More info

The brothers came to Adelaide in 1948, bringing with them a bold and controversial practice that challenged what was then a conservative visual art scene in Australia.

It was claimed by South Australian artist and critic Ivor Francis that Dušan’s work would not be appreciated in the artist’s lifetime, but in this AGSA exhibition, both brothers will get their due.

The exhibition features paintings created on the brothers’ long sea voyage to Adelaide, as well as Dušan’s surrealist films.

Dušan and Voitre Marek: Surrealists at Sea is a free exhibition, located in galleries 2225 of the AGSA.
