What's On

So Pop Adelaide

  • Main image: Aqua, at a time when all of that seemed normal.

In our latest print mag – issue 23, on streets and in cafés now! – CityMag brought back the gig guide in street press form.

We also reached out to some friends in the local scene for tips on shows we should be attending over the summer, and on this occasion we reckon publican / label founder / guitarist / vocalist / lyricist / long-time clarinetist, Dave Blumberg is pulling our leg.

Remarks

So Pop
4pm Sunday, 3 February at Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
Tickets.

But we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt: So Pop is probably going to be a really good time.

It’s billed as a four-hour extravaganza, and there’s really no other way to describe it.

Hosted by Cheez TV’s Ryan Lappen and Jade Gatt, strap in for all the hits from your glory days in the ’90s (in the experience of this writer, that was predominantly spent in primary school), with live sets from such giants of the bubblegum pop heyday as Aqua, Vengaboys, Blue, B*Witched, Eiffel65, Lou Bega, The Outhere Brothers, 2Unlimited and Mr President.

Here’s what Dave had to say:

Dave Blumberg

Drongo Tracks, The Golden Wattle, The Maraby Band.

“Star studded line up of seminal acts from the avant garde of the chart topping orthodox underground.”

Yeah, he’s defintiely having us on.
