Share x Soi38
As COVID-19 restrictions prevented SHARE’s inaugural dinner event going ahead in March, the concept relaunched as a series of pop-up event, appearing at ARTHUR and Commute.
Next up, the SHARE team is working alongside Soi38 for a dinner event happening on Sunday, 30 August from 6pm.
SHARE’s pay-as-you-feel or dine-by-donation concept is offering a Thai-style feast made by Adelaide chefs Joel Tisato (Africola and SHARE co-founder) and Terry Intarakhamhaeng (Soi38).
The initiative will provide a menu using food diverted from landfill by OzHarvest and will be offering service on a first-come, first-served basis.
Founded by Kate Richards and Joel Tisato, the SHARE concept also aims to return dignity to some of the city’s most vulnerable, providing for those without the means to enjoy high-quality restaurant dining.
At the end of the meal, SHARE asks attendees to pay what they feel the meal is worth or what they can afford, with proceeds going to OzHarvest and the Hutt Street Centre.
The initiative will offer a vegetarian option but, the chefs won’t be able to cater to all dietary requirements, as the menu is made predominantly from rescued food.
SHARE’s social good concept takes inspiration from Auckland’s Everybody Eat’s, founded by Nick Loosely.
You can eat well and do good this Sunday, 30 August at 54 Pultney Street from 6pm at SHARE x Soi 38.
