Have You Seen Home

Remarks

From 6pm to 8pm at Chateau Apollo this Thursday May 24.

Have You Seen Home – a photographic exhibition and book launch by Tash McCammon and Tyrone Ormsby – is taking over Chateau Apollo this Thursday.

We know their worth, and therefore understand the necessity of attendance at their one-night-only event, but for those yet to be initiated, here are some facts:

Tyrone Ormsby, born on the twenty first, July 1989 *Australia. Taking great inspiration from sojourns abroad, his work is an homage to what he has learnt (so far).

After failing to graduate as a graphic designer, Tyrone took up a placement at well-respected communication research centre Fabrica in Treviso, Italy. After which he pursued photography, both moving and still. During 2015, Tyrone worked closely with the Portuguese performing arts collective Yuuts Rouy, contributing to, and documenting their works. This was followed by his first solo exhibition, Beige Light, and a photographic book of the same name. In 2016, the online exhibition of his documentary project Hello ! marked the end of a two year creative residency with Companhia João Garcia Miguel, a physical theatre company based in Portugal.

Tash McCammon is an artist, poet, and explorer with an Honours degree in ekphrastic poetry who has also studied photography, philosophy, and english literature.

Tash’s work ignores the boundaries between disciplines – utilising everything from video to installation, sound art, analogue mediums, photography, and map-making to unpack themes such as spatial occupation, language and identity, margins or silence in art.

Currently living and working in both Spain and Australia, Tash is preparing for a residency on a Barkentine Tall Ship that will travel around the archipelago Svalbard, eleven degrees from the North Pole.
