If you want to throw your support behind Girls Rock! Adelaide, an organisation fostering and encouraging female and gender diverse people in music, while also watching live performances by some of South Australia’s most lauded acts, head along to Fun Day Out this Saturday in the city’s Carclew Youth Arts Centre.

This year’s Triple J Unearthed High winners Teenage Joans are billed to play, as well as South Australian Music Awards finalist indie four-piece SEABASS, Barkindji folk singer Nancy Bates and one-stop pop-shop Sarah Grainger.

Fun Day Out is an all-ages event, and also promises craft activities, a workshop lead by Nancy Bates and a Teenage Joans choir headed-up by pop-rock duo Mum Friends will be on offer.

The day is funded by the Music Development Office, with all proceeds going to support next year’s Girls Rock! Adelaide camp, held in January, which aims to provide a space for emerging female and gender-non-conforming musicians to play and learn about the industry.

Tickets are $10 per person or $20 for a family of four. Kids under the age of four must register for a ticket, though they’ll get in for free. Visit the Facebook event page for more info.
