Fresh from its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, Carmen is set to seduce Adelaide Film Festival audiences this month.

World-renowned French choreographer, dancer and emerging director Benjamin Millepied (Black Swan) assembled a truly international cast, including Mexican rising star Melissa Barrera (In The Heights), Irish actor Paul Mescal (#AFF22 film Aftersun, Normal People) and screen legend legend Rossy de Palma for his mesmerising feature film debut.

A dazzling modern-day reimagining of one of history’s most famous love stories and operas, a special screening of Carmen will feature a live performance from flamenco star Marina Tamayo and an exclusive live Q&A via international video link with director Benjamin Millepied and star Rossy de Palma.

Partially shot in South Australia and a recipient of the 2022 AFF Investment Fund, Carmen will be co-presented by Adelaide Festival at Adelaide’s historic Her Majesty’s Theatre on Wednesday, 26 October at 7pm.
