Botanic Gardens’ Heirloom Weekend
If you have never been to Diggers in the Botanic Gardens, you should go – it’s a utopia of plant-growing trinkets and tips and it’s right in the CBD.
The main activities of the Heirloom weekend take place on 9-10 April between 10am-3pm on the lawn between Diggers Garden Shop (Schomburgk Pavilion) and First Creek, Adelaide Botanic Garden, North Terrace.
See the website for full details.
This week’s Heirloom Weekend is the perfect introduction to the purpose and utility of Diggers’ work.
With plenty of events – everything from free classes on Autumn veggie gardening to ticketed masterclasses that delve into the deeper (pun somewhat intended) aspects of heritage apple rootstock – there’s something for almost every level of interest, and just being there is bound to make your thumb at least five shades greener.
Live music, lawn games, kids’ activities and the (somewhat mysterious) pumpkin competition are set to give the whole weekend a very jovial feel.
