Outside Within will tour South Australia from 16 May to 4 June.

A bold, new triptych of ideas, stories and legacies by Artistic Director Daniel Riley (Wiradjuri) and Adrianne Semmens (Barkindji), presented in Adelaide at The Odeon, 10—13 May and touring throughout South Australia from 16 May—4 June.

Daniel’s first work for Australian Dance Theatre – The Third – takes as its starting point his 2021 film mulunma – Inside Within, commissioned by RISING:Melbourne, which explores the relationship between the Western archive and a First Nations archive, each built on differing ideologies. The Third extends these concepts by looking at the body as an archive and how we hold memories personally and collectively.

Adrianne’s Immerse dives into the lineage of our waterways and our ancestral connection to fresh and salt water, speaking to the duality that springs from her connection to freshwater as a Barkindji woman, but now calling Kaurna Country home – saltwater country.

This exclusive performance marks a new generation at Australian Dance Theatre and is an opportunity not to be missed.
