New Year’s Eve in the city

  • Electric Fields

New Year’s Eve is either the biggest party event of the year, or the most disappointing nights of the year. Sometimes it’s both.

Remarks

The Adelaide City Council’s New Year’s event takes place on December 31 from 6pm and is free. See full details here.

But you can tip the scales in favour of making the 2016-2017 turnover a good time by spending some of it amid the Adelaide City Council’s New Year’s Eve celebrations at Elder Park.

Underpinned by a live music line-up featuring some of the best acts of 2016, the event is set to be a cracker.

Our pick is the set from electro-soul outfit Electric Fields, but Mane, the Germein Sisters and Nakatomi are all quality performers

Of course, it’s NYE so there will be fireworks too – not just once, but twice, with two scheduled rounds of riotous colour at 9pm and midnight.

Kids entertainment, food vendors, street theatre and roving performers will top off the free event.
