Friday, May 05

19:00             Welcome                                                      Host: Josh Fanning

Josh Fanning talks with Bowerbird Bazaar founder, Jane Barwick about this May’s event along with Farley Wright of Kitty Came Home and Erin Lightfoot. Our first broadcast will give listeners a good overview of the weekend coming up as well as a look back over the history of this event.  A great show to tune into if you’ve never been or have been coming to Bowerbird since, forever.

Saturday, May 06

11:30             Gin & Juice                                                   Host: Josh Fanning

Talking with Shane Reid of Antipodes Gin and Dom Ossa from Dawn Patrol Coffee about the explosion in local food and drink businesses and the role of design in helping these two reasonably new brands cut through the clutter and tell their story effectively. A must for any new start-up thinking about launching a food product onto the market.

13:00             Material Culture                                        Host: Farrin Foster

Lauren Bezzina is CityMag’s design director. She implemented a grid re-structure (learn what that means) of the magazine’s layout but externally to CityMag design duties, undertook a jewellery-making course at Jam Factory. Join CityMag’s inner sanctum as editor Farrin Foster and publisher, Josh Fanning discuss the difference between material things and being materialistic. This podcast will be a discussion of beauty in inert objects and why we humans (or at least those humans at CityMag) give them an inordinate amount of value. This show will also feature a round-up of our favourite stalls at Bowerbird so far and the beautiful things we’ve purchased.

15:00             Food incubator                                           Host: Farrin Foster

We talk with Tanya Agius and Danielle Frankish of Let Them Eat about the years they’ve set up shop at Bowerbird and how it’s helped them establish their business and brand. This show is a must for anyone looking to start a food business and understand the advantages of working with an incubator like Bowerbird.

Sunday, May 07

11:00              Form and function                                      Host: Josh Fanning

The state of architecture and design. Talking with Julie Pieda of Koush Design about Adelaide’s growing appreciation for good design in all things and how this is transforming the city both physically and psychologically. This show will take in Bowerbird as an example but also speak to the multi-tasking that goes on in the design professionals life as creative minds seek fulfilment across a broad spectrum of initiatives.

13:00             From little things                                        Host: Farrin Foster

Naomi Murrell of the eponymous jewellery and fashion house, Naomi Murrell talks with us about the early days until now. Without doubt, one of South Australia’s most successful design businesses, Naomi will share some secrets about her success and how a generous approach and a community approach to business can build a better brand.

15:00             Highlights Reel                                           Host: Josh Fanning

Talking to an ad-hoc panel —the best people to summarise the weekend — This show will be great to tune into to either learn what you missed out on or disagree with our picks for the best bits from the weekend. A lighthearted chat among the friends you tend to make over three days camped out at Wayville Showgrounds in Bowerbird design market.
